SMART

SMART – the Single Mothers Academic Resource project began at the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education with primary funding by the Women’s Foundation of Oklahoma (WFO). SMART strives to identify and advocate pathways for single parent students to complete their higher education goals.
As SMART networked with colleges, universities, and non-profit agencies & foundations, the project has been replicated and adapted to respond to the varying academic and non-academic needs of single mother students on campuses throughout Oklahoma. The WFO provides grant funds to assist in these local community projects and currently has a long term funding lens to effect systemic change impacting the economic self-sufficiency of Oklahoma women and girls.
